You've decided to use Codeable? Then it's time to post a project there. So the WordPress developers can take a look and provide you with a free quote. Let me show you how. I'll also add some good tips. For example, how to write a great project description. It will help you get the most accurate quotes from the best developers.

Here's how to post your project on Codeable:

Go to the codeable.io and hit "Start a Project".

On the next screen, you'll have to choose between a project or a consultation.

Generally speaking, a project means that you know what you would like to achieve. If you don't know exactly, choose consultation. Have you chosen a project? The next step is filling out project categorization and description. Take a look at the Codeable project categories below and choose the one, that is fitting the most.

Installing and configuring

This is pretty straightforward - you need to add something new. From my experience, this is the least posted category. Installing the stuff is usually not overwhelming.

Customizing

Easy for you, hard for the developer. If you want changes to existing services or products, this is the category for your project.

Fixing

This one is tricky. Something is not working. You don't know, what. This category should help you find a developer who's willing to help you out.

Developing or designing

This is a fun one! If you have an idea for a new website or product, this category is perfect for you. You can find developers who will help you bring your vision to life.

Migrating

This category is for those who need help moving their site to a new host or platform. If you're not sure how to do it, or you don't have the time, this is the category for you.

How to describe your Codeable project

This is the most important part of your Codeable journey. This platform offers more WordPress projects for developers than we can take. We have the luxury to pick and choose. You don't want to be too vague, but also not way too much descriptive from the beginning. Being vague signals, that you don't have an exact idea about what you would like to achieve. And that you would not be willing to move forward and fund the project. You also don't want to be too descriptive. No one wants to go through a lot of text before landing a project. You should look so that you have an idea of what you want to achieve. And that you are serious about it. Demonstrating, that you are ready to move forward.

How to interact with Codeable developers

After posting the project on Codeable, you can expect the first interaction to be pretty fast. The first developers will engage with you in minutes/hours. I would give it 24 hours for the first contact. But if you haven't heard from anyone after three days, reach out to Codeable support. They will help you to change your project description. You will usually get 1-5 Codeable experts to interact with you. If you have written a good description, you will get good developers. If they feel that they can solve your problem, they'll also provide you with their quotes.

Answer the Codeable developers fast

Try to be helpful with the answers and answer on time. If you're hiring someone, it's important that they understand your problem and have a good idea of how to solve it. The faster you answer, the faster will be the WordPress developers expected to reply. What is not good is stretching the project communication for weeks. I've seen too many customers, that engage with three or four developers. And then suddenly stop responding to anyone for a couple of days/weeks. This is very frustrating for the developers. They have other projects too and can't keep your project on hold for an infinite amount of time. Plus they will forget all the context in the meantime. Try to interact with the developers on a daily basis. Or every other day, at the worst. This will help you to speed up the project delivery.

How to pick the Codeable WordPress developer

Usually, you'll form an ongoing relationship with your WordPress developer. You will get to know them and what they are capable of. They will also know you and your site more. And this will create a lot of synergies. You want to like your WordPress developer as a person. You will be working with this person for a while. And liking them makes the process so much more enjoyable if you enjoy each other's company. Then it's good to browse their reviews and testimonials. And see what other clients have said about them. You should go with your gut feeling. I hope this helps you get started with Codeable! If you have any questions, feel free to post a preferred project for me. I'm happy to help!
